While MMORPGs are great in theory, it’s hard to achieve success with them as it essentially means that developers need to remain committed to the world for development periods longer than a regular game. RuneScape is one of the games that has actually managed to achieve this.
The game was launched in 2001 and is recognized by the Guinness World Records has the world’s largest and most-updated free MMORPG to date. For those who remember playing the game and would like to relive it, you’ll be pleased to learn that Jagex has announced that Old School RuneScape (which is a separate version of the game launched in 2013) will be launching on mobile devices in October.
