Luna Display Converts Your iPad Into A Second Display For Your Mac

Given the size of the largest iPad Pro, it’s not surprising that more people are starting to think of these tablets as potential laptop replacements (depending on your needs). Their size also means that they are great to double up as a secondary display, especially if you work outside with a Mac laptop.

The good news is that if you wanted to use the iPad as a secondary display for your Mac, a device and app called Luna Display might be of interest to you. The device was originally launched on Kickstarter where it was successfully funded, and basically what it consists of is a dongle that is connected to your Mac, and software on your iPad that transforms it into a secondary display.

According to Astro HQ, the creators of the Luna Display, “Software apps literally hack your graphics card, delivering a glitchy and unreliable picture. Software tricks your Mac into thinking a display is attached, when in fact they get no benefit of graphics acceleration or Metal GPU support. Luna harnesses the raw power of your graphics card, giving you the full benefit of its graphics acceleration.”
