Apple recently launched their new iPads in the form of the 10.5-inch iPad Air and the iPad mini. For those who are planning to get the new iPads and are thinking that maybe some of your older iPad cases can still fit (like the iPad mini), think again. According to AppleInsider, it seems that the new iPads won’t play nice with existing cases.
This might be a bit confusing because the new iPad mini looks a lot like its predecessor. At a glance it looks identical even, but according to the specs, the new iPad mini is actually taller and also thicker compared to the iPad mini 3. This means that existing iPad mini 3 cases will not fit the tablet.
But what about the iPad mini 4? The dimensions are identical, but even then there might be some compromises you’ll have to make depending on the case you’re using. This is because the new iPad mini has longer volume rockers, meaning that if the case you’re using has made-to-fit volume rockers then this could pose a problem.
